Endpoint Protection client for Mac versions earlier than 12.1.4 must be uninstalled before you upgrade to version 14. You do not need to uninstall later versions first. See Supported upgrade paths to Symantec Endpoint Protection.
Auto-Upgrade is supported as of 14, but cannot be used to upgrade from 12.1. You must export a client package for the new version then install or deploy as you would a new installation; it is not possible to use the Upgrade Groups with Package wizard (auto-upgrade) to migrate Macintosh clients up to a later client version. However, you can usually install the new version directly over the old without uninstalling first; see the previous question.

You do not need to reinstall or upgrade the endpoint agent to benefit from future software updates. Alert Logic continuously and automatically updates the agent to ensure that you have the latest features and strongest protection.
Microsoft recommends all customers protect their devices by running a compatible and supported antivirus program. Customers can take advantage of built-in antivirus protection, Windows Defender Antivirus, for Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 devices or a compatible third-party antivirus application.
You can upgrade Veeam Agent running on a specific protected computer. This operation may be required, for example, if you did not allow Veeam Backup & Replication to automatically upgrade Veeam Agent on computers included in the protection group and want to test the upgrade process on a selected computer first.
Keep in mind that you can upgrade Veeam Agent on a computer added to a protection group for pre-installed Veeam Agents only from the Veeam Agent computer side. To learn more, see Upgrading from Veeam Agent Side.
You can also upgrade Veeam Agent from the Veeam Agent computer side. This approach is required, for example, for Veeam Agent computers that are added to a protection group for pre-installed Veeam Agents. The process of upgrading differs depending on the Veeam Agent computer OS:
Review the requirements before deploying the Tanium Client to endpoints. Additionally, review the specific requirements for the Tanium Client Management shared service before installing it and using it to deploy clients, monitor client health, manage client settings, or upgrade clients.
2 This solution requires Endpoint Configuration, to deploy tools and configuration changes to endpoints. You must upgrade Client Management to version 1.5 or later to support the latest version of this solution. For more information about Endpoint Configuration, see Tanium Endpoint Configuration User Guide.
The Tanium Module Server must have a connection to endpoints to automatically deploy the Tanium Client using Client Management. Additionally, both the Tanium Server and endpoints must have IPv4 addresses; IPv6 addresses are not supported in Client Management. If you plan to deploy the Tanium Client to endpoints that cannot be reached directly from the Tanium Module Server, such as those connected to a Zone Server, or if you plan to deploy the Tanium Client where only IPv6 addresses are available, you can download and manually deploy an installation bundle. For more information, see Download the installation bundle or tanium-init.dat file for alternative deployment.
On endpoints that run macOS 10.14 (Mojave) or later, you might have to configure a firewall rule to prevent end users from seeing a pop-up for allowing connections during a Tanium Client upgrade. See Manage pop-ups for Tanium Client upgrades. 2ff7e9595c
